Ahh the Fleadh, the Belfast Fleadh – were you there? I’ve never seen Belfast so lively, so fun, so full and so mad. It was so good – it was genuinely emotional. I’m even tearing up as I write about it.
I think my favourite thing was watching tiny children everywhere playing trad on everything from banjos to harmonicas. I also realised I’m obsessed with the sound of the Uileann Pipes. I’m looking forward to its return in 2027. I even saw one spokesperson, before the latest one even ended, calling for Belfast to have it for a third year. Sure they might as well keep it here.
I made a commemorative linocut print. It was exhibited in Belfast Print Workshop, Vault Artist Studios and Pigment Space. It’s now for sale in my online shop.
